Where do I start ?! Everything about this place was amazing. The owner Sal and all the staff are amazing and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in ! The atmosphere, the food, the aesthetics, the service was just great ! My husband and I tried the mole slice and the chicken buffalo slice and we were so impressed ! The flavor was great and it was cooked perfectly too. We also had the wings and they were delicious. The “best wings I’ve ever had “ were my husband exact words. They only been open for a few months, but you can tell all the work and effort they’ve put in their menu and on giving the restaurant a very unique vibe. We will definitely be back!

First time in and had a horrible experience. Came in and ordered with someone. We waited and he got his 12” pizza after 25 minutes. I had ordered a 10” veggie pizza and fries right after. 10 minutes after he got his pizza, my fries came out. The server goes “hope you enjoy and yall got everything”. I did not get my pizza and mentioned it to him. He looked confused and puzzled. It was clear that it was forgotten. Another 10/15 minutes went by and my pizza finally came out. It looked strange but took a bite. When I tell you the dough was not cooked all the way, the veggies were all raw, and the cheese was warm at best. It was clear it was rushed after it was forgotten. At this point I was upset and more upset that they didn’t acknowledge the mess up and tried to cover it up with a rushed pile of raw veggies. I had to take the rest home and finish cooking it myself. Not a great first impression and probably won’t be back. I should also note that it wasn’t busy inside.

I had the chance to try Big Gay Sal’s Pizza in the new gayborhood, and it was fantastic! My friend and I stopped by for a late-night slice, and we both ordered the Meat Lovers pizza. The pizza was loaded with a generous amount of toppings, and each bite was packed with flavor. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the cheese was wonderfully gooey. The atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, making it a great spot to hang out. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a place to unwind, Big Gay Sal’s Pizza is the place to go. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

I had an amazing experience at Big Gay Sal's Pizza, thanks to the outstanding service from Craig Cherry. From the moment I walked in, Craig's friendly and attentive demeanor made my visit exceptional.

The pizza was delicious, with a crispy crust and fresh, generous toppings. Craig's excellent service truly elevated the experience.

I'll definitely be back.

Big Gay Sal's is the most convenient and friendly place on north Halsted. Great for a quick bite before heading out but also cute for a nice sit down and a drink over pizza. They host social events (watch parties, Drag PAC, etc) on top of their day to day operations. I encourage every LGBTQ+ person to make it their duty to support these kind of queer-centric businesses that build up the community.

Amazing pizza, AMAZING mozza stix, and super friendly staff!! the drinks are STRONG and the vibes are awesome...what's not to love?! Had the best time here and can't wait to go back soon!! 🙂

Worst customer service experience ever. I hate when people do the "I've owned a restaurant, I work in restaurant" things but I have owned a pizza place. I was thrilled to know an independent pizza place was opening here and really wanted to support. I went on their website to order and toast bumped it to tomorrow. Ya, I should have looked more carefully but I assumed it was good. I got there at 12:03 and showed the order. Realized it was for tomorrow. And apologized. I asked them to refund it because toast does not allow you to cancel the order like that. (Unless there is a big software update I'm unaware of) The person slammed the door in my face and locked after saying "if you know toast so well figure it out".

Never again.
