Sal’s Italian

Visited Tideswell for a weeks break in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. Was recommended that we try Sal's Italion restaurant. Well we did this evening and I must say it was exceptional...food was superb and beautifully presented. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Just simply stunning...a must if you stay in Tideswell. Book in advance as its reputation is well earned. We have again for Friday... Well done all at Sal's...10/10 Just visited Sal's again this evening (Friday) and had what can only be described as more exceptional food.....simply gorgeous! Full of flavour, freshly cooked just superb!! Its a must if you visit Tideswell or the local area...you won't be disappointed! Well done ALL at Sal's....top job!?❤

Wanted a break from pub food on our walking holiday but we really were not expecting food of this quality. Everything we had was excellent, fresh and beautifully presented, with some imaginative and successful variations from the usual. Being able to bring your own wine with no corkage charge was a bonus.

Wow! Would 100% recommend this beautiful restaurant. A lovely atmosphere with great service, and the food was exceptional whilst reasonably priced! They also went to the extra mile to make our daughter’s birthday special, thank you so much - we’ll definitely be returning ?

Table for two on a Monday night. I had the Sea Bass, my partner had the Salmon. The quality of the ingredients was excellent. The service was great. Izzy was really attentive and friendly. We had the chance to speak with the Chef and can feel the passion when talking about the food.

Really tasty food and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated. They only serve soft drinks but are happy for you to bring along your own alcohol.

Great restaurant with lovely staff- quite large group so given a separate room to eat and well looked after by staff. Food was average for the price but portions are large and experience was good.

A pleasant small restaurant in the village centre providing the usual range of Italian food. Be aware the toilet is outside the main building should this be an issue. There is no alcohol licence so it’s soft drinks or bring your own bottle which most diners did. The staff were very attentive and friendly which was appreciated. The food was a bit hit and miss. The fungi chef dish of button mushrooms, cream and cheese was a letdown. Essentially a bowl of watery cream with what tasted like tinned button mushrooms and the cheese was a congealed goo at the bottom of the bowl. The garlic bread was fine but a bit pricey at £7. The seafood platter was a great improvement and was tasty enough though again pricey for a relatively small plateful of seafood and no vegetables other than small potato portion. The penne chicken dish was fine though a little bland. Overall, a nice addition and alternative to the village pub fayre and I’m sure other dishes are excellent as customers appeared very satisfied. However, £60 for x2 starters and x2 mains with no drinks other than water was a bit steep we felt.

Absolutely superb Italian dinner with a real quality feel, but without the price! So tasty and a small team of super friendly staff who put a lot of care and attention into making this small restaurant a big dining experience.
